General Description:

The Applied Biosystems GENEPURE 341 Nuceic Acid Purification System automates the purification of genomic DNA and total cellular RNA from such sources as viruses, cells, tissues, body fluids, and plants. On the instrument, genomic DNA may be purified by a choice of protocols: The well stablisched, standard Proteinase K/Phenol-Chloroform extraction protocol (method 1), and the quick, non organic cycle (the fast Cycl method). Total cellular RNA is purified on the 341 by a novel approach that combines both the guanidinium thiocyanate and proteinase K methods (Method 2).
 
     The 341 offers consistently high recovery and purity, and virtually eliminates sample mix-ups or contamination. Once the samples are loaded into glass reaction vessels, they undergo automatic chemical manipulations that render the product ready for use upon suspension into a suitable buffer.
